My piece depicts a man with a serious face wearing a button up shirt. The most obvious element is the line. The most obvious principle is a balance.
To create this piece I used a four square grid then I mapped and started to shade.
My inspiration for this piece was to pick someone that was trans and looked serious so I could give it a bit of a background more then the picture was given. My goal as an artist was to draw a portrait without using a real grid and without any help. I kinda reached my goal I only used a four square grid and I barely asked for any help.By creating this piece I learned that I need to map a little bit more lightly and that I can really draw if I really put the effort that I have forward. Overall I think I will like the piece when I finish it because it really does look like him and I didn't really ask for any help. I will use what I learned on this piece for future works because I want to keep in mind that I am a good artist and can do it.
This piece depicts a octopus standing on its tentacles. This piece was created using a balloon to form the head and then I put plaster around the balloon to hold its shape. To form the tentacles I cut paper towel rolls to make 8 and then glued them to the head where I wanted. Then I put cardboard inside the paper towel rolls to create the length and put news paper around and then I added more plaster strips. My inspiration for this piece was I really like octopus and squids they are just really interesting things to look at and I thought it would be cool to make one out of using different things. My goal as an artist with this piece was to create a octopus that was holding something that represented peace. My goal was also to learn how to use a new material and do the best I could.
Overall my piece didn't turn out how I wanted it to but I think with the time and help I did have it turned out alot better then I expected.
This piece depicts a women's body in green under clothing. Where her head is there is a sunflower and two green swirls going from the sides of her body. This piece was created using Prismacolor pencils. I used many different colors to get the skin color to look how it dose and used a lighter color to burnish it all. I repeated the process for the sunflower and the underwear.
My inspiration for this piece was to show how beautiful a woman's body could be without having her look like a stick. When someone looks at it as art they find it way pretty then when it is really in front of them. The flower is there to show the growth of a woman's body has to under go and is still beautiful. My goal as an artist with this piece was to create a beautiful image of a woman's body that not everyone would find beautiful in life but find pretty in art to show them it's how you look at things.Overall the piece turned out how i wanted it to look. I think i was successful within the work i got done and i finished on time and it kinda shows the message.

My piece is a small planter pot that has a textured tree on it and some little clay dots that are shown to be flowers. I created my pot by adding coils and smoothing the inside and the outside to give it a smooth look. I just wanted to make something to plant a flower in and I wanted the pot to not be blank so I added things that I thought would give it an earthy look. The goals I had for this was to make a piece to plant a flower in and get a better feel of using clay. I think my piece is successful but I also think I could've done better if I put more thought into the way I wanted my pot to look and what I wanted to put on the outside of the pot.
My piece depicts a demon holding a man's face while he is trying to cry. The man also has bob wire going around his neck and into the broken hole of where the heart is. The man is all white with no color.
I first thought out a deep idea to what I wanted to draw. I then drew out what I wanted and made a lot of changes. I started by adding some grey into where I wanted the dark places and then burnishing with the white. The demon's face and hand have many colors of red in it to help it look real.
The big idea of my piece is to show how overwhelming internal pains can be. I used the bob wire to show how it feels when you wanna cry or say something and it tightness the harder you try to not. I put the demon into show someone isn't letting you speak and holding you back from it.
The goal of my piece was to just show how pain can really feel sometimes. Things are overwhelming.
I think my piece is good but I need to finish it out. I think it really shows what type of pain people really goes through.
